A complete diet for adult dogs for the reduction of excessive body weight. This diet is formulated with high levels of protein and low calories to promote loss of body fat while maintaining muscle mass. The same diet can be fed for maintenance to reduce the risk of rebound obesity. The high levels of protein along with high levels of natural fibre can help dogs feel full and satisfied. This diet also contains low glycaemic index carbohydrates to help nutritionally manage diabetes mellitus.

The suggested daily food intake for weight loss is based on the dog’s current weight, average caloric requirements, and a desired weight loss of 1-2% of body weight per week. Daily food intake must be adjusted every 4 weeks. Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets OM Obesity Management can be fed long term for dogs prone to weight gain using the maintenance feeding quantities. In case of hyperlipidaemia the recommended period of use is initially up to two months. It is recommended that a vet’s opinion is sought before use or before extending the period of use. Fresh, clean drinking water should always be available.
